Do curtains ACTUALLY hold in warmth if you have double glazing?

We're renting a house that has no curtains in the lounge. It overlooks the garden so no privacy issue. There is one 3'x5' UPVC double glazed window, and double glazed patio doors.

We didn't live here last winter, so don't know how the house 'behaves' in the winter (probably a 1980s house - detached).

Anyway, is it worth getting curtains? Will it REALLY make any temperature difference?

TIA

I once lived in a rented flat as a student and it was freezing with thin curtains.

I trawled the charity shops for curtains of the same size and tacked them on behind the existing curtains. It did make a difference.

Did you take them with you Ruby? The windows in my student house rattled - proper old sash things. Stuffed with many many bits of paper!

Did I hell take them with me.

They were Granny rejects which was why I tacked them behind the real curtains. Made the place warmer though and at £5 they were a bargain.
