Paper Briquette Makers - any good?

I have a huge amount of paper work that I need to dispose of. However, a lot of it has confidential information on it so I need to either shred it or burn it. I have a woodburner and was wondering whether I could use this paper to make briquettes to burn through the winter.

Does anyone have any experience of these things? Do they work and is it worth the effort?

Sorry, no experience I'm afraid - we just ball our paper up and use it instead of firelighters. That tends to get rid of most of it!!

I would just roll it up a few sheets at a time and sort of tie it or weave it around itself, then use as fire lighters.

I was going to buy one then read some reviews on the likes of MSE, you have to soak the paper in water for 3-4 days and then compress the paper in the brick maker and then leave to dry, so you can only make a few at a time because of the length of the drying time and the space it takes to dry them out. I decided it was more effort than I could afford to expend!

We had one, absolute RUBBISH, took SO LONG to dry out completely and didn't burn that well. We find it better to just use it under the kindling in our open fires.
