Is there any way of getting the residual wax out of the pretty glass pot a scented candle came in?

Or do I have to reluctantly throw away my ever growing collection of pretty glass pots rendered unusable by the globs of grotty wax clinging to the sides of the pot?

Try boiling water to melt it out - worked for me, but maybe not a good idea if the glass is fragile Smile

I'll try it. Nothing to lose - they're unusable as they are.

Heat gently in a low oven
(With oven gloves on) pour out the wax
Have loads of kitchen tissue ready to wipe out the rest
Then take an old kitchen scrubber to the thin film on the insides (you will have to throw it away afterwards)

my dad puts them in the dishwasher, they come clean every time

I'm wondering about the risk of clogging up the filter with old wax.

Boiling water! I use this for candle sticks and pots, melts the wax and wipes away. Also use it for the soap bowl in the bathroom to get the soap off. Just pour water in a leave a few mins then clean :)

Freeze it, then cut it out.

Doesn't need to be boiling, just very hot water.
