Dear Ladies
PLEASE tell me how I can clean prints and smudges from the BLACK GLOSS cabinetry I inherited in my kitchen - nothing I use seems to leave them smear free. Any suggestions?
TIA

Microfibre cloth?

Thanks - what 'product' would you recommend? Regular kitchen cleaner smears as you would expect - even tried glass cleaner.. sigh

Not that I 'do' housework but I know that baby oil is good on stainless steel - might it work on gloss too?

You don't need any products with a microfiber cloth. Just dampen slufhtly and wipe . They remove all smears and smudges and marks.

Dampen slightly!

I use isopropyl alcohol for lots of kitchen smears, you might want to test an inconspicuous are first.

Apart from that the glass polishing e cloth is your friend.

Ive got a high gloss kitchen and swear by an e cloth.

A microfibre cloth and a solution of vinegar and water.

You can buy these kits of 2 different cloths from the pound shops, I think. You get one towelling mit which you dampen and wipe all over. Then you use the microfibre one dry, to buff it dry, works brilliantly, but tiring and time consuming! I have trained up my DTS's (aged 7) to do it and now pay them 20p! Highly recommended!

Wahey! been on Mumsnet 10 years and first foray into 'housekeeping' - my house tells me I should be here more often :) Thanks gals.

I use Windowlene and a microfibre cloth on mine - perfect.

Yep, I have black gloss and after lots of trial and error the only thing that works is an ecloth.

bessie26 · 25/08/2011 23:06

We have dark gloss cupboards & I just wipe with a wet Jcloth then dry with a t-towel or kitchen roll.

I'm currently training DD1 (2.10) to do this job as it's mainly her finger prints!

I use method glass cleaner & e cloth. Comes up to a high shine :)
