Very good reviews on Amazon. Worth checking out as there is a rigmarole for getting your washing machine ready before using them. No onerous.

I used them for some years, including to wash nappies. Whites go grey so if you want things to 'look' clean, they may not be ideal. Soap pods/nuts?

I used them for 6 months but haven't replaced them. I was very impressed at first and saved a fortune on washing powder.

If you're just 'refreshing' clothes rather than cleaning to get out food & stains then they're great.

I have found though if you don't get the clothes dried very quickly after they've been wash they smell quickly. So its been a bit rubbish with a wet summer, not able to line dry and not having heating on to dry quickly on the radiators.

I bought some about five years ago for washing DD's washable nappies and am still using them. I'm amazed more people don't use them and can't get over how expensive conventional washing powders etc are. I line dry my clothes outside whenever possible.

I bought an set of Ecozone balls about a year ago but didnt really get on with them. Really difficult to fill and didnt clean that well. I really liked to idea of not using detergent on clothes but just didnt get on with these. My friend told me about Ecoegg which is quite simular, she said she got on really well with it so I gave it a go too. Been using it about 2 months now, think its great. easier to fill than the Ecozone ones and I think it cleans better aswell. Ive got horses and im forever covered in mud, the ecoegg manages to get my riding coat and jodphurs really clean, normally I would have to wash these twice with normal detergent, so im pretty impressed. Even used it to wash the dogs bed which stank to high heaven and it came out smelling really fresh. Thats pretty good if you ask me.

Good to know about the dog's bed! Wonder if it'd work on the dog? Saw some the other day and wondered about getting some.

On the strength of this thread I have just bought an ecoegg. £20 well spent I reckon as we use Ecover and it's not cheap. And it's endorsed by that woman off the cleaning programme on the tv with the Aunt Flo style topknot!
