A number of mine, DH's and DS's white t-shirts are stained yellow by sun cream. Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid? Vanish isn't working.

That's it sunlight? I expected weird and wonderful mixtures made from stuff in the kitchen cupboards. Sunlight you say. Okay I'll give it a go.

Having recently started a thread myself, people recc'd everything from washing up liquid to green household soap. Sadly, nothing is working so far, although repeated attacks with a vanish solid bar is fading the marks a little.

Failing which, spray with lots of hairspray, soak overnight and then wash.

I use lemon juice and leave in the sun for a day, then wash. Works like a charm.

I may even do different tests, like the washing adverts and compare the results

Well as I have 3 white (stained yellow) t-shirts I will try hairspray, sunlight and lemon juice and will get back to you.

I used cream of tartare and soaked the tops which helped, still not perfect though.

Whites and suncream bad combination I'm discovering

Well we've had no sunlight to speak of so my experiment is still pending. It really doesn't look like anything is going to shift it.
