Do you shop at Lakeland?

And, if so, what are your favourite, or most useful (can't do without) items? The things I like are the My Kitchen baking tins, the foil even though it is so expensive, their packs of 10 food containers, the Quick Clips and Klippits, the freezer bags, Ovenmate cleaner and Ovenmate stainless steel spray. I also have the long handled dustpan and brush, their California dusters for floors, Microfibre mop and the fantastic Tap Adaptor. I am just about to place an order and am curious as to whether I'm missing out on something that could either save time or maker life easier!

Thanks, Tia

Bought their electric drier from their laundry range - it is great and gives my tumbledryer a break

I love the catalogues; I take them to bed and dream of my domestic drugery being transformed by a new gismo they've recently found...

Back on planet earth, I love their paint on oven cleaner, their butter buds (saves calories, and no one notices) and their jam stuff. Just bought a load of jam pot covers, and tarted up my home made jam as end of term teacher presents. Presentation is everything....!

I find that Lakeland is overpriced for the most part. My mum loves it though! The only thing i'll occasionally treat myself to from there is the Liquorice! It's sooooo good!

Anything else i need from there my mum usually already has so i just borrow it Wink

As a rule, I don't like gizmos, but my mother gave me a thing that you screw into a pineapple. At the end, after just afew twists, you end up with pineapple rings - no skin on and the core cut out. It's fantastic - we have fresh pineapple all the time now.

All ridiculously over-priced, but I too have been known to take the catalogue to bed & mark all the items I want! Grin

I have the fly screen & it is really good, except if you keep removing the Velcro to open/close the window it does start to loose it's stick... Keep meaning to write to them to see if they'll send me some more!

Failed Lakeland purchases:
Microfibre mop
Easiyo
Massive clingfilm dispenser thing
Ladle Scoop
Mini plastic boxes
camping salt n pepper thing
blue string floor duster thing
foam carpet for fridge
magic metal polishing cloth
Probably more but they have already been consigned to the bin!

Successful:
Blade traybake tin
barkeepers friend
tap adapta
Lavender wheat bag thing
lock n lock boxes
Doves yeast
white dusters
cellophane biscuit bags
compost caddy with lid filter

Jury still out on the stayfresh bags

Oh forgot - best of all

Zyliss spud peeler - the £1.99 one has a black steel blade that's razor sharp.

JackieNo · 07/07/2011 21:30

I love Lakeland catalogues - have a browse through. I tend to go onto the website, put everything I want into my basket, then look at the total and go Shock no way am I spending that much, and delete it all. Works out much cheaper Wink.

I do like my california mop thing for laminate floors, and the smaller hand held version for dusting. And the klippits.

TheOriginalFAB · 07/07/2011 21:46

I have nearly the whole shop Grin.

whomovedmychocolate · 07/07/2011 21:49

I love them. If anything is shit, and you say so on their website, they refund you the money, even a year later! Great customer service and nice folks too. I know a mumsnetter who works at our local one and she's lovely too!

Tia4 · 09/07/2011 17:55

Ha ha! Just as I expected, I now have to go and check out more of your favourite things! Am off to the York store tomorrow and I think I'll take cash rather than my card just to be on the safe side. I've been considering trying the Stayfresh Longer bags - if they're as good as they're meant to be it would save me money for sure. Thanks all!
Tia.

Our local poundland sells those preserving jars, oven liner and loads of other Lakeland type things for well, a pound. My mother is obsessed with the place. Totally overpriced IMHO.

jalopy · 09/07/2011 20:45

Heated clothes dryer. It's fab.

Scotsfairy · 09/07/2011 21:57

Yes! X-posted! Their heated clothes horse is fantastic - THIS

Perfect for delicates that need to dry flat (and also really heats your house in cold weather - useful side effect Grin )
