somebody mentioned using baby oil, really? Won't it ruin the steel in the long run?

so what give it a wipe over and then 'finish' with baby oil?

Bumping. Never heard of this before!

LaTook · 28/06/2011 11:29

I have used it loads. Don't put on too much or attracts dust. Gets rid of all finger prints. I use a gel baby oil as easier to work with.

LaTook · 28/06/2011 15:36

Wow thanks cutiecat will give that a try later!

I use olive oil but baby oil works too.

wompoopigeon · 28/06/2011 15:43

An ecloth works well too.

nickelbabe · 28/06/2011 15:44

I got some special polish for my stainless steel posh sink, but it's so long ago, i couldn't tell you what it's called.

newspaper? (like you do with windows)

Cutiecat · 28/06/2011 17:00

Shiney sinks is the best for a stainless steel sink. Totally fab.

LaTook · 28/06/2011 17:18

i did buy some sort of cif spray bottle stainless steel cleaner, what a waste of time (and money) that was!

haven't bought an ecloth before but I did recently see them in Lakeland when I bought my ecloth microfibre flat mop (which is my best purchase EVER)

I'd definitely second an e cloth. Saved me lots of time and always came up well.

brighthair · 28/06/2011 19:56

I clean it with whatever the sort of "polish" it up with a dab of baby oil. Been using it on my hob for 5 years and it comes up like new

twooter · 28/06/2011 20:00

I use it too - was told to by my kitchen installers. Works an absolute treat. I just wipe down the surface along the grain. It seems almost like painting on a thin layer of oil to hide the oily fingermarks.

2 parts white vinegar to one part water in a spray bottle. Microfibre cloth. Job done. Clean, sparkling, smear free and cheap.
