Was it any good?
How much was it?
My house is a complete TIP and I can't bear it any longer and I am tempted to throw money at the problem.
Thoughts please?

600 is rediculous amount of money.
im off to start one of those ages, as apparenlt there are people who will pay that!!!!

LovelyDaffs · 27/06/2011 16:09

I've got one book in next week that I ought on Groupon, it was £45 but it is a large house.

DarftApeth · 27/06/2011 16:20

I know we were shocked a the £600 quote as well. I guess there must be people willing to pay if he quoted that much but the person she went with (the lowest quote), she managed to get the windows cleaned inside and out and cleaning all carpets and curtains included in the price.

They are flying abroad the day they move out, so they can't do it themselves very easily.

What's groupon? I'm I being really thick?! Confused

garlicnutter · 27/06/2011 16:37

You buy special offers - have a look at www.groupon.co.uk to see how it works.

i have done this with a friend when i was working as a cleaner. Unfortunately, if your place is full of clutter then even the best clean isn't going to make any difference. I would declutter first, and if you don't feel up to it yourself, get a professional to help. And then make sure that the clutter doesn't creep back in !!

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 27/06/2011 16:43

I personally actually really enjoy decluttering and find it quite cathartic - that's if I get the time and the opportunity to do it. But cleaning? Yuk! Hate it. Every second.

MCos · 27/06/2011 18:15

I've got it done recently. House was tidy before they started. They did great job, they did the windows inside & outside, and cleaned out my fridge & cooker as well as a really thorough cleaning.

If you have a lot of decluttering to do, could you break it down into smaller chunks? Cost should be same if you will be paying by hour.
e.g. If you did it over 2 days, you could have 1/2 house done at a time.. Split the 'worst' rooms between the different sessions..
