Do you use pegs to hang laundry on indoor airers?

well, I don't but thought things might dry quicker if I don't hang them 'double' iyswim?

I don't. Hadn't ever considered it tbh

DirtyMartini · 15/05/2011 10:22

No, never occurred to me to do this.

Our airer has wooden slats so don't think pegs would work anyway, but also, too much faff and probably not much difference in drying time, I'd guess.

Jas · 15/05/2011 10:23

No. I haveconsidered it for socks and underwear, but never have enough pegs.

JetLi · 15/05/2011 10:33

I don't but I can see your logic.

kiwibella · 15/05/2011 10:59

I bought one of those round things with loads of pegs on for socks and knickers. It hangs from the airer.

I think I got it from the 99p store, Wilkos... or somewhere like that!

JetLi · 15/05/2011 11:32

Oh yes - same as kiwibella I hang one of those off the pan rack in the kitchen in bad weather

Cutiecat · 15/05/2011 18:09

I have an ikea dryer which is flat with the bars across iyswim. www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30176088

I peg it on like i would on the line. I think it dries much faster.

TheMonster · 15/05/2011 18:13

Sometimes. My mum does it all the time.

belgo · 15/05/2011 18:15

Yes, because it makes sense that a single layer of fabric will dry quicker then a double layer.

MelinaM · 15/05/2011 18:16

Yes, but only when using it outside on the patio ...it usually takes off if I forget!

belgo · 15/05/2011 18:16

and because it makes it harder for the children to pull the clothes down when they are playing 'tent' under the clothes horse.

Seona1973 · 15/05/2011 18:26

I hang lightweight towels, sheets, duvet covers, etc at the sides of my big tower airer using clothes pegs. I also have the little peg thingy for the kids socks which hangs of the airer too. My airer is really tall so things dont trail on the floor.

AngelDog · 15/05/2011 19:35

No. But I often use the little peg thingies that kiwibella mentions - they're great for using on the outside line & being able to grab lots of stuff & take it indoors if it rains.

mousymouse · 15/05/2011 19:38

Great, will put that on the list for the next trip to IKEA.

I didn't think it was possible to have clothes airer envy Shock. I need a tall one like Seona. My kitchen always looks like a proverbial chinese laundry

mousymouse · 16/05/2011 10:59

I have the IKEA one cutiecat linked to, but without the wings.
sufficiant for a load and small enough to live in a corner of the living room.
