Need to get rid of mould on bathroom ceiling (just paint) and also off the metal venetian blinds.

Please help.

We have this problem.

I wash (easier said than done) the ceiling with a bleach and hot water solution to clean.

Sadly,I've found that this doesn't stop the mould reoccurring (think the mould in our bathroom is due to the crappy 1950's metal single glazed windows).

Dh is going to paint ours with a anti mould paint and hopefully this will help.

Ditch the metal blinds, you will be fighting a losing battle.

we rent, so can't ditch the blinds :( To make you feel better, we have double glazing and good radiator, and still have mould. Think it is a lack of willingness to open the window in the midst of winter in our case.

We have had a case of mould in 2 of our bedrooms. In both rooms we treated it with an anti-mould spray. In the front bedroom, which is just painted, it hasn't come back. In the back bedroom, which has wallpaper on the walls and ceiling (for some weird reason) it went for a few months but then came back. I think this is beause it is wallpaper so when we treated it the spores didn't completely go. We are in the process of redecorating so that bedroom is going to be completely stripped of wallpaper and treated with the mould spray before the room is completely replastered. We will also be painting with anti-mould paint and this goes for the front bedroom also when we repaint that.

We used the dettol mould and mildew remover. Hope you get it sorted! :)

It might be pricey, but a humidity controlled fan is great at keeping bathrooms dry.

I used (or rather had DP climb up and do it) milton and then proceeded to leave the window open for a bit after each shower. Has really made the difference. There is still some marks on ceiling but I guess painting over after washing it might work to hide the marks. We have the new pcv double glazed windows and that is when the problem started.

Our problem began after we had our pvc double glazed windows installed too. Each bedroom has a vent in but the only one that actually works is DD's and that room has been mould free. The other two vents will be replaced in the other rooms so that they actually work. We do have mould in the bathroom on the ceiling but that is due to a leak from the roof so we are currently waiting to get the bathroom ceiling replaced :)
