Any suggestions, can't see anything blocking that little hole thing at the back.
Its setting is turned on to 5 (out of maximum of 7)

Should I be concerned. BTW its just a small fridge rather than fridge freezer.

Is there anything blocking the v shaped channel that runs down into the hole from either side if the fridge? I once had somehow got a receipt into one of them, so the water wasn't being channelled down anymore but was being diverted by the ancient, decaying paper and ending up in a puddle at the bottom instead. I had to move jars ad things to see it.

Mine did the same, after cleaning orange gunk from the drain Blush it didnt solve the problem. My mum suggested i put some milton down the drain and see if it helped - it did! No more puddles Grin Must of been a blockage further down.

I found out the answer here a few months ago..get some cotton wool buds and give the small hole a really good poke...swirl them around and remove...(mine were black & filthy) ..your problem will be solved Wink

WomblingWriggles · 05/04/2011 20:52

But whats the hole for and where does it go and where does the water go?

follyfoot · 05/04/2011 21:17

It drains away all the condensed moisture to the outside - think there is somewhere it evaporates from the backf

Sorry for the bump, but I have this problem. I can't see anything blocking the drainage channels, I've poked around with a few cotton buds to no avail, so am interested in the milton solution.

Is this just the normal milton liquid you can buy at the supermarket? Do I just slowly pour it into the hole?

droopypoppies · 12/04/2011 22:41

I meant to say..Is this Milton sterilising fluid you mean peachybums?

stleger · 12/04/2011 22:54

Normal Milton, and a poke with a kebab skewer will degunk places a cotton bud won't reach

susansocks · 12/04/2011 22:55

i was told to use sodium bicarbonate, it worked.
and in a previous fridge i had a length of old washing line, to poke down the hole

droopypoppies · 12/04/2011 23:37

Thanks stleger.

susansocks I have some normal bicarbonate of soda, in a tub, the powdery type. Is that the same sort of thing?
If not, where can I buy 'sodium bicarbonate' please?

susansocks · 12/04/2011 23:38

um, yes droopy.
the cake baking thingy is what i use.

susansocks · 12/04/2011 23:38

as recommnded when i rung the fridge people.

Pollyanna80 · 12/04/2011 23:53

THANK GOD! thank you so much, that's really been bothering me too! Damn technology. Also how do I defrost the freezer without the food in the fridge going skanky??? It's an all in one and they share a dial.

Any help would be hugely appreciated

susansocks · 13/04/2011 00:00

um, the freezer should defrost quite quickly, i used to put bowls of hot water in the bottom. keep changing. and hitting the ice with a wooden spoon, freezers have been punctured with sharper instruments beware

droopypoppies · 13/04/2011 00:09

I'm really sorry if I sound stupid Grin but it's a powder?

I'm assuming I mix it up with water, and pour it down the hole?

Pollyanna80 · 13/04/2011 00:50

Susansocks- thank you I'll try that. My friend suggested a hair dryer but I'm
not that stupid ;-)

droopypoppies- you can get a spray version in asda/tesco/sainsburys/boots etc. It's brilliant. You can also get wipes

droopypoppies · 13/04/2011 00:58

Thank you Pollyanna80 I shall pick some up on my next shopping trip. Smile

EasterWabbit · 13/04/2011 01:00

My weekend looked bare before reading this thread... I'll be elbow deep into fridge on Saturday now, thank you MN Hmm Grin

susansocks · 13/04/2011 09:33

yup, the baking powder, barcob of soda. - is a powder, but there is water in the hole - so the 2 mix togetehr quite nicely, that and the cotton buds.
