How can I make my house smell of roses (without buying lots of real roses...)?

Now Spring's here the house smells stale. I'm usually very anti artificial smells and I've been opening the windows but I really fancy a bit of a boost. Nothing in John Lews or Crabtree & Evelyn that alleges to smell of roses really does.

Any suggestions?

if you can get some rose oil. a few drops on a clean cloth and rub over your radiators. it gently releases the smell with the warmth.

Isn't rose essential oil very expensive though?

Pure rose oil is very expensive, but you only need a drop to get the frangrance. You can put a drop in a spray bottle mostly filled with water for a room/ironing spray. Put a drop on a cotton wool ball in your tumble drier or in your hoover bag. Try Neal's Yard for a good value pure oil. It is very lovely stuff.

these

Fill with water and a few drops of oil. I find them really good, but need to top up often.

Thanks maccie for the tip!!

Have loads of rose oil from the little bottles you get with Roses Only deliveries. They also give you chocolates but strangely those are all gone Hmm

Those oil diffuser things with the sticks in are really good. L'occitane do some beautiful ones and I think they do a rose fragrance. They last for months.

I've put essential oils on radiators before and the smell they made was brilliant. They did make the paint bubble though. I'd recommend using a diffuser.
