Plastic mixing bowls that can be microwaved?

I love the coloured melamine sets of mixing bowls you can buy, but none of them are suitable for the microwave, and I always melt butter to start making a cake! Has anyone seen any nice, light yet sturdy, ideally colourful, microwavable mixing bowls? ( sorry I know very specific!)

I'm afraid I can't answer your question specifically, but I just wondered whether you knew the definition of microwave safe plastic?
It means that the bowl itself is not damaged by the microwave waves.
However, there is now evidence that microwaving food in plastic containers causes some of the chemicals from the plastic to seep into the food.
Considering that plastic is made from crude oil, these are generally not chemicals that you want your family or yourself to ingest.
It might be more hassle, but you might want to consider melting your butter in a ceramic dish and then pouring it into your cake mixing bowl.

I have a few melamine things (children's set, mixing bowls) and they all say not suitable for microwave. Not sure whether any melamine ones are suitable..... I generally weight the butter in a glass bowl and microwave that if its too hard.
