Thank you for the schedules as requested on another post, I now have something I'm working from.

A big part of my problem is storage now I have much more (baby) stuff and the house is yet to adapt, and also organising within the storage I have (e.g. closets, cupboards, shelves) any suggestions please for bins/containers/organisers or other storage solutions to get me tidy again?

I'm finding a lot of the containers/bins/boxes etc are pricey so any ideas to do this affordably would be appreciated. Thank you

I got a tall, wide but narrow front-to-back ikea Pax wardrobe frame (no doors, we hung a curtain in front of it, but have never used it and its just pushed out of the way so I wouldn't bother with that) and in it I have a combination of cubby holes (each one has a white stiff fabric drawer in it, which I can't see on the website, but I bought them in store), 3 wire baskets on runners, so they pull out easily and then 2 shelves at the very top.

I've found this fab for DS, I bought it while pregnant and he's now 2.5. I did have the baskets at the bottom with sheets and towels etc in and cubby holes with clothes in the middle. But, about 6 months ago (as DS' clothes are so much bigger now and he needs less sheets etc) I rearranged it so the cubby holes are at the bottom with towels and his toys etc in and the drawers are in the middle with his clothes in. The shelves at the top are still out-of-season or not often needed stuff.

I absolutely love it (in case you can't tell) its made me organised, which I'm not naturally at all, as there was always a place to put everything, so it wasn't hard to put clean washing away quickly and I'd whole-heartedly recommend it. :)

I did my sons room up recently. I got a shelving unit from b&q, it came in an unfinished finish, so you could paint/stain or whatever. Here it is finished on my blog if you want take a look

it would look just as nice with nice baskets for storage in it.

I have that unit, also painted white, with some storage boxes from dunelm mill which fit perfectly (called bright square storage box- £2.99). Ikea sell a cube shelf unit called expedit which would do the same job, and plenty of boxes or baskets to fit.
