Problem with Dyson Animal (upright)

I was hoovering under chairs and now it does not want to go in an upright position anymore. It seems to be stuck somehow. Any suggestions what to do? Dyson helpline does not know. Thanks (still got lots more hoovering to do ...)

This happened to mine DH just seemed to jiggle it and it returned to the upright position.
Sorry I can't be more specific but it was one of those infuriating situations where I had tried for ages and he came in and just wiggled the handle back and forth and it clicked back to normal

Thanks, unfortunately haven't managed. Any other suggestions welcome!

Hope you got it sorted...... but just in case...... turn it upside down... you will see 2 metal pegs one of which will have jumped from it's slot and into a nearby hole.... using a screwdriver spring the plastic and the peg should jump back into the slot. It happened to mine and Dyson told me hoe to sort it when I rang them. Design fault methinks.

Trumpton thanks, but where are the 2 metal pegs? I turned it upside down (it is an upright purple Dyson Animal) and don't see any metal pegs near the large purple ball. Grateful for any suggestions as I have not managed to fix it.
