How can you bake successfully in an oven without a window?

Thinking of replacing our cooker for one with 2 ovens instead, but many of them (range style) don't have a window in the door. Can anyone advise me how they bake without this?

Do you mean because you can't see in? You time, and then open the door to have a look.

Faith. And hope. If a cake is sinking, why watch it?

Sorry, only just got back here. Well, I've always had ovens with a window, so you can see if things are burning. As you shouldn't open the door when cooking, for example, yorkshire pudding, how can you know if it's done? I just wondered if anyone who has one can tell me how much of a nuisance it is NOT having a window. Thanks!

I mean with a range cooker, not a high-temp camera Grin

I have an AGA and love it! Aga's in particular are very forgiving if you do take a sneaky peak, which I always do.

Not a problem in the slightest to me.
