Which food processor should I get?

I?ve been inspired to get a food processor after watching Jamie Oliver?s 30 Minute Meals. I?m thinking of using it for chopping and grating but also for making cakes. I?ve seen the [[http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kenwood-FP220-Multi-Compact-Processor/dp/B000M5D5JQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1299503509&sr=8-1 Kenwood FP220] in Sainsburys on offer for £39.99 but it?s even cheaper on Amazon. Bit put off by the negative review. Does anyone have this and would you recommend it? We?ve got a small kitchen so I like the fact that it?s compact but put off by small capacity ? perverse I know. Is it worth paying a lot more? Looking at Which the Bosch MCM4100GB got a very good review and is about £100. TIA

I have an old Kenwood food processor which is still going strong after about 20 years - I'm desperate for it to break down as I'm lusting after either a Magimix or Kitchenaid one which both cost a fortune.

I have a Kenwood Chef with all the gubbins, inc. an icecream maker, meat mincer etc which is really good. Cost about £600 around 7 years ago but no problems.

I got a random rubbish one for about £30 years ago and it is crap at chopping veg, so beware. it makes me very sad. i use it for breadcrumbs and dough and some cake stuff. looking at which is a good idea.

Have been very inspired by Janie's use of his Food Processor. I have a Magmix - looks nice and has a strong fairly quiet motor with few bells and whistles you get the feeling there is less to go wrong, I've had it for 7 years now and like all my kitchen equipment I aim to buy once every 25 years or more so I see it as an investment

A food processor will never chop as well as a good knife (even Jamie's machine misses bits!) - it's a bit of a compromise regardless of which machine you buy.

Thanks very much for all of your posts. Have never heard of the kuhn rickon but it looks interesting. Am leaning towards the Bosch. Love the internal drawer and it looks great in this little video.
