Our Dyson is about to shuffle off this mortal coil - do I replace with the same or is there something better out there?

The dyson is finally threatening to conk out for good after many repairs (mind you, it is about 400 years old!)

Can anyone recommend something better or should we just replace with another dyson?

I love my sebo

Definitely a Sebo.

We have a Hoover and it is rubbish - only 18 months old and has already had two spells at the menders. I'm not sure it has any original parts left.

The very next time it goes wrong I shall take great delight in dropping it into the nearest skip and replacing it with something better - a Miele, by all accounts!!

I asked this same question a couple of years ago, was advised to buy Dog and Cat Miele. I followed the advice of all the wise mumsnetters and have been impressed! Still like my miele better than the Dyson animal we had before Smile

We are Henry fans here. My mother has a Miele and she'd very happy with that. I personally really dislike Dysons.

Miele Miele Miele

I started a thread like this and was advised Henry or Miele. Went with Miele cause easier to get here.

It is great. Much better than anything other hoover I have ever had.

Admittedly it was some time ago but we considered a Dyson last time we bought a vacuum cleaner and the guy in the shop persuaded us to have an Electrolux which was half the price and just as good. I have no regrets. Rhe only trips to the menders have been self inflicted - I stood on the cable and pulled it out and also tried to suck up things that shouldn't really be sucked up and broke the belt. I mended the belt myself very easily following the instructions. We have had it 8 years now and it is absolutely fine.

The overwhelming response to this question when I asked it on a dog rescue forum (so plenty of moulting going on) a while ago was that the best by miles is a Sebo. Our local independent electrical shop say that they are the very best you can buy too.
