My ds has just been sick on my sofa, we cant find any washing label on it.

Does anyone know if they are machine washable or is this a dry clean only job?

if they are loose covers then surely they would be washable? If they're upholstered, then perhaps not, although I have washed my upholstered seat cushions on a hand wash cycle in machine. If you do try it though, you'd need to wash both together so their colour fade is the same. Just ring DFS tomorrow and ask.....unless sick has a food stain in it! You can buy special biological chemicals to dab on stains of upholstered cushions.

Thank you! I think Ill give them a ring, they can be unzipped and taken off so I would have thought they could be washed but I dont want to go ahead and then they shrink!

if you are not sure, wash them on the wool cycle. should be fine.

I've got a DFS sofa with removable covers too. The reason they are removable is so they can be cleaned.

I wash mine about twice a year at 30 degrees and they come out brand new.

What I would say though, is that you'll need to wash all the covers, not just the one with sick on it, incase there is any fading.

If you are nervous about it, give DFS a ring.

Ok thanks! Ive got 2 seat cushions that can be removed and 4 smaller back cushions, so I think Ill give them all a wash on 30 degrees.

but......if you trash them/shrink them, then DFS won't give you replacements, having not asked them to start with (unless they're classed as removable covers.

My sofa is upholstered with covers that unzip but that is literally so they can be fitted onto the foam. It clearly states that they must not be washed or dry cleaned but can be professionally cleaned in situ.

Check with DFS is they're not loose covers or take the risk of shrinkage if you're not too worried and it's an older sofa.

Just to update, and if anyone else has this problem-

I washed all the cushion covers on a normal 30 degree wash and they've come out great, really clean and looks like new again!

Thanks for everyone's input :)
