Bathroom solutions? PLEASE

My Bathroom is tiny, just space for the bath and the sink. It is also downstairs, coming off my kitchen, meaning we can't really keep bath stuff in bedrooms or anywhere (no spare space in kitchen).

It is currently such a bombsite that I am doing my teeth in the kitchen! I have cleared out stuff and I do genuinely use everything that is in the (toiletries, plenty of bath toys, steps for the toddlers to reach the sink etc).

I have those netted bags for the bath toys but I hate them I find they fall down with more than a handful of bath toys in. So I end up just leaving them in the bath, then sticking them in the sink when I bath and then put them back in the bath again! But it does my head in and looks messy!

Can you get an over-the-door rack for storage?
Something like this might help?

It won't hide anything, but might make it look more organised and help with the storage?

Perhaps toys could be in net/string bags and hooked onto the shelves too?

SingleMumAndProud · 17/02/2011 19:56

That does actually look good. BUT the problem I would have is that I have towels and dressing gowns hanging on the back of the door and don't really have anywhere to put them Confused. But I do like that rack you linked to so I will have a good think about it!

I could store the towels upstairs BUT if I get the girls in the bath and then realise the towels are upstairs then I am pretty stuck as they are 1 and 3 years old so I can't leave them at all in the bath.

or something like this

you could then put the toys in a net type drawstring bag and hang it round the bath taps?

SingleMumAndProud · 17/02/2011 19:59

Furball - I would of done (I had one from my old house) but my sink doesn't allow for it as it has some strange piping that is boxed in and the mains water tap is there too, again boxed in. Confused

That's a good idea about hanging it round the bath taps though, thanks, may try that Grin

Could you free up the back of the door for shelves by using something like this for towels? In fact, quite a few on that site.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 17/02/2011 20:27

Or this and you could hang the dressing gowns on it.

we had the same problem in our old house, dont know what kind of sink you have, but we bought a second hand cabinet and fitted it around the sink,it really easy to do.We put sealant around the hole we cut out to fit around the sink and it looked like a fitted cabinet. we had one shelf for toiletries and one for towels, also had the nets for bath toys but they never stayed up.
