I'm about to get my first ever dishwasher! I've seen one I really like, Bosch Exxcel. Has anyone got one of these, and would you recommend it? Also I understand that it's better to get one with a cutlery draw, rather than a basket? The Exxcel we saw in the shop only came with a basket, does anyone have one with a draw? Sorry for all the questions, it's just that I want to get this purchase right!

we have a Bosch Logixx but it comes with the tray which is handy as it leaves more room on the bottom rack for pots, plates, etc

Mines a Bosch something. Hmm Wish I had the tray as the basket is a bloody nuisance really and takes up valuable space. Other than that Bosch is a great make of dishwasher.

We have a Bosch - a thin one. It's fab. never herd of a non-basket cutlery holder!

the one thing about a cutley basket - is you can lift it out and carry it over to your cutlery draw to unload

My mum has a Bosch, she is now on her second one. The first lasted for over 25 years! We have a Siemens which I am told is the same as a Bosch except for its name. It was on special offer when we were looking. We have had it for nearly 11 years and the only thing that has needed replacement was the spring thing that opens the detergent hatch. Cost me £1.69 and I did it myself. (away to look at these tray/drawer types as I have never heard of that!)

I think the Bosch Exxcel only comes with a cutlery basket.

I think it is only the more expensive dishwasher models which come wiht a cutlery tray.
I do however like my cutlery basket. I carry it over to my cutlery drawer and unloading is then very simple.

Bosch is a superb make though, if expensive. So if the exxcel is the highest you can go within the range on your budget then I would not let the basket-instead-of-tray issue put you off.

We have a Meile which is brill- it has a tray. we had a basket thing with a previous Zanussi- think the tray is better.

Had Bosch with basket up until the summer, now got Neff with tray.

Items don't seem to get cleaned so thoroughly with the new one in which the cutlery has to be placed horizontally rather than before which was vertically.

Mushy peas & a certain breakfast cereal on spoons are a nightmare now....I have to soak before inserting!!!
