Cookie cutters

Does anybody else have rather too many cookie cutters? How do you store them, please, because they are driving me nuts (and I don't have that many, honest!) - they are currently in a drawer but they don't stack nicely together and they get tangled up and fall out and stop the drawer closing properly...gah!

Good question!
Current solution is to cram them in the utensil drawer till it won't open.

NOT ideal. Hmm

mumcanIaskaquestion · 13/02/2011 18:48

In an old biscuit box on top of my cupboard.

MmeBucket · 13/02/2011 18:55

Yes. If there's a holiday, we have usually multiple cookie cutters for it. I have a box from a package someone sent me that they fit perfectly in. I don't even keep it in my kitchen. It isn't like we use them that often, and it is much less cluttered that way.

Carrotsandcelery · 13/02/2011 20:49

I would like to know the answer to this one too. Mine are currently in a massive carrier bag on top of the kitchen units which is very attractive as I am sure you can imagine. I have too many to even fit them in a big tin from Christmas Quality Street or anything like that.

YourCallIsImportant · 13/02/2011 20:51

Mine are on a big ring like a jailer's bunch of keys, and I can't get any more on it. I think I've got about 15.

Carrotsandcelery · 13/02/2011 20:52

That sounds a great idea - where did you get the ring?

pantaloons · 13/02/2011 20:55

Mine are in a plastic basket in a cupboard. I have to admit cutters are my addiction though!

PigeonPie · 13/02/2011 21:01

Mine are in a very large box which lives under the bread box in the cupboard. I've got the 'jailer's ring' to store some on, but then there's the ones which don't fit on it, like the small tin with the feet in (cheesey feet biscuits a speciality), the small tin with hands, the rather larger tin with the alphabet, not to mention the rocket cutter, the saw, the screwdriver, the musical note.

I'm a bit of a collector - you never know when they might come in useful and at least my friends know where to come when they need an unusual one!

bigbadbarry · 13/02/2011 21:33

Sorry, I was away making hearts :)
I have an old "celebrations" box, think I am going to move them to that for the time being (though I have no idea where I will store that). Love the sound of the jailers ring - where is that from - except I think I have far too many. Really love the cheesey feet idea!

Mine came with quite a few cutters on and it was so long ago, I've no idea, but it might have been John Lewis or Peter Jones.

PigeonPie · 13/02/2011 21:36

Cheesey feet are a great one for birthday parties - particularly for small boys - but I also did some for a present for my (late) grandmother one year when I couldn't think what to give her and she thought they were fab!

ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/02/2011 21:38

This is probably not the right thread but have you seen these?

All together now, aaahhhhhhhhhh........

bigbadbarry · 13/02/2011 21:39

I think this is the perfect thread for them!

OP posts:
ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/02/2011 21:41

You likey??

Carrotsandcelery · 13/02/2011 21:41

Totally magic!

bigbadbarry · 13/02/2011 21:42

They are cute :) but the bit inside the cup will get soggy and they will drop off.

OP posts:
ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/02/2011 21:43

Put less Brew in then you big noodle.

bigbadbarry · 13/02/2011 21:44

Grin yes I just had visions of faffing about putting tea in, pouring tea out...

Blatherskite · 13/02/2011 21:49

I have at least about 30 cutters. They all live in a big plastic tub that I got from Hobbycraft in my corner cupboard.

No matter how well I dry them, the metal ones always seem to go rusty though. How do you keep them nice?

Carrotsandcelery · 13/02/2011 21:50

Put them on first then pour hot chocolate in accordingly. Grin

PigeonPie · 13/02/2011 21:56

Blatherskite, I often put them on the baking tray which needs drying, into a warm oven to dry off. That seems to help.

bigbadbarry · 13/02/2011 22:06

The pricier ones definitely rust less. I am considering putting nails in the back of a cupboard door to hang them from, except I suspect they will just drop off annoyingly if the door is opened too quickly.

OP posts:
ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/02/2011 22:54

Could you make them kinky?

Grin
YourCallIsImportant · 17/02/2011 10:16

I got the ring with cutters on it from TK Maxx IIRC.
