Post Office Savings Stamps - deadline to exchange them

I inherited some post office savings stamps last year and hadn't done anything with them till now. Just found out from the local Post Office that you have to trade them in by the last day of this month (28th February)if you want to use them up. Just thought I'd pass this info on in case any of you out there have any old stamps sitting around the house.

This was in MoneyMagpie:

Have you got any Post Office savings stamps in a drawer or an old envelope somewhere? Pop down to your local Post Office and use them while you can.

The last date you can use them to pay for a service in a Post Office branch will be Monday 28th February 2011. After this date the money will always belong to you and a full cash refund will always be available but you won?t be able to use them for stamps, parcels, paying bills or other Post Office services.

The Post Office estimates that there is £1million worth of Savings Stamps still to be redeemed across the country. So if you?ve got some hanging about the house, use them now to pay a few bills or get the cash back. Hey, it?s free money!

It's not too late and anyone who uses the stamps are probably already on the budget card anyway. I guess its if there's any lying around.

At the end of the day, the 28th Feb isn't 'redeem or lose', but a 'redeem or becomes difficult'.
