We currently have stainless steel kitchen sink and due to the high lime content in London water it's impossible for it to ever look clean unless we never use it.

Thinking of having it replaced, but not sure what marerial is best to avoid the dirty look? Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks

Can you not just use limescale remover, or install a softer tap thingy?

*softner

thanks! never thought of the tap thingy i'll have a look...

as soon as i use the sink a little (we have dishwasher) and it dries it looks dirty... usual kitchen cleaners fine, but it just never looks clean when used iykwim...
i can shine it up etc but not possible all the time... hence thinking of a new sink!

I know what you mean - when we lived in london replaced our stainless steel sink with a corian sink here.

thanks sam the corian looks lovely, our kitchen counters are oak though which we'd like to keep... i'll do some research!

I live in SE London and have a white porcelain one, which goes a treat with my wooden worktops. Obviously it does get discoloured, but nothing that a dilution of bleach won't sort out in a minute or so, and I have no trouble with limescale.

I live in London and have a stainless steel sink, use vinegar on it, it does the job nicely.
