clothes and shoeaholic plse.
I am sorry this is in chat also but right now I want to put a bomb under the house I am stressed and fed up of stuff everywhere that has no home and 80% of it is not mine.
Due to flooded and gutted house we have acquired 2 adults [my parents]who will be with us for a period of time, My MIL is also here meaning that today I lose 1 wardrobe, 1 x10 drawer chest of drawers and 2 under bed storage and an ensuite bathroom .
I am armed with charity bags as I never realised how much stuff I had

There is really not that much I can get rid of [uniforms, running gear, day to day gear, suits for dress up days at work etc]Where the hell am I supposed to put it. HELP I am thinking of chucking DP and his million sweaters and coats into the dog house or into a vac bag under the decking

If they're staying with you for an unspecified period of time, I strongly suggest hiring a storage unit somewhere as local as possible and dividing the cost between you all (or maybe they could pay for it!) It's rare for everything to be needed all the time. As they are the guests, the majority of their stuff should go into storage. I don't think MIL should have her things stashed in your bedroom, it could mean an invasion of privacy every time she's getting dressed, etc. Tell DP to choose his favourite 5 jumpers, all the rest go into storage. He can go and swap them round sometimes if he's feeling sentimental!! Why the hell hasn't her stuff gone into his storage places anyway, she's his mother..

It's stressful having guests, even worse if you don't know how long for and where it's all going to go. They should take responsibility for their own stuff, doesn't sound like you were particularly consulted about all this.

Consulted emmm Not really DP offered [I would have as well but with a few rules] MIL is a different kettle of fish, I have given both of them rooms with space so they can watch tv etc in their own private area [ie off limits to the DC] We are just lucky that the attic was ready for conversion ie add a floor and decorate. I have just ordered a garden shed from argos [Dads job tomorrow] but it is the general lack of space and shit'important stuff' that need to be dealt with.
I think vac bags and shed for clothes storage,
and plastic drawers for paperwork
I need to prioritise and wash more Sad
