Grannies chipped china - good housekeeping?

I inherited a lovely porcelain tea set from my grandmother. Unfortunately, many of the cups and saucers are ever so slightly chipped.

What does a good housekeeper do? Throw everything out that has a chip in it? Keep it for my DDs just to be able to say "that was from your great grandmother"?

You can have porcelain repaired.

I can't find anyone to do this where I live. THanks anyway.

i'm not a good housekeeper, but i bin anything chipped. it harbours germs doesn't it? or use as saucers for potplants

Is it pretty vintage tea set? Would it look pretty just for decorative purposes? Saw a really nice display of vintage teacups and saucers with spring bulbs planted in them the other day and that looked nice.

Think it would be a shame just to throw it away just from a nostalgic point of view.

We keep my MIls old Christmas plates they're only of sentimental value 'cos they're chipped we eat off them on christmas day and we're all alive and kicking!
