I used my magimix 3200 for the first time last night to chop veg.

It was dead easy to use, and clean, has a small footprint and according to the booklet can be used to make smoothies and soup so doesn't need a blender jug I think. I didn't think it was that noisy but I don't have anything to compare it to.

I second the Magimix. I used to have a Kenwood with a blender jug, but it was a bitch to clean (not dishwasher safe).

I will add to the Magimix fanclub. It doesn't have a blending jug but it is a fab item and wort the cash

And it's compact, quiet an easy to clean

I'm in the Magimix fanclub - strong silent motor.

I used to use mine for smoothies and it was fine but the stick blender, if you have one, is much easier than a jug liquidiser for blending liquids.

Magimixes are pretty good for soups, purees, slicing etc. The only thing they cannot do well is puree or grind small quantities (e.g. preparing a paste for a curry).

I have a smaller inset bowl for my Magimix - suitable for smaller quantities - not sure how it would cope with grinding spices, but it worked just fine for pureeing baby food.

I love my Magimix. Use it all the time (but use a stick blender for soups etc - assume I could probably do that in the Magimix too but I tend to make huge batches in a big pan and would have to keep tipping it in and out to blend in small batches). The slicing and grating attachments make stuff like potato dauphinoise and anything needing lots of grated cheese really quick to do.
