I need a new washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer

Where is the best place to shop? Moving house. Although we're getting a new kitchen eventually, I just want a free standing dishwasher so no need for the integrated bit.

Preferably like stuff in the grey/granite colour.

We've use appliances online in the last few years replacing the disherwasher & washing machine.

Reasonable price, quick delivery and delivered when they say it will.

When we ordered our dishwasher from them. Ordered sunday afternoon and it was delivered the next day. They Emailed sunday evening to say it would be monday morning and then they rang to say they would be here between 9am and 10am and it was.

I would recommend John Lewis for the fridge freezer and dishwasher. Both items I bought have been great, reasonably priced and both with extended warranties.

I would also go with their their own make as well.

I found a local independent electrical retailer to actually be cheaper - they deliver 7 days a week, don't charge extra for delivery or for removing the old appliance and connecting the new one is included in the price.

Our town also runs a discount scheme to encourage shopping locally so I got a 10% discount & my Bosch dishwasher and Siemens tumble dryer worked out cheaper than shopping anywhere online.

Thanks all. Lizzie, you are not the first person to mention appliances online to me so will have alook at them.

There isn't anything local Hormones so it would mean travelling to Edinburgh for Currys and Coment.

Greg, I know it might sound like I work for John Lewis, I don't btw but I would seriously give them a look.

I bought my appliances from JL in Edinburgh, after a year my cooker played up and I phoned up and reported it and they replaced it with a brand new cooker without any fuss or quibble.

ctually been looking at JL today (the coat I want isn't in the sale...gggrrrr!) so yes looking at them too. Easy enough to get to Edinburgh for a look too.

I am very happ[y with John Lewis, they also offer good-value warranties.

But I strongly recommend that you spend an hour in your local library browsing their binder of "Which" reviews before you decide what make and model to buy. There are some real dogs around.

I also like John Lewis because of the additional warranty they offer. Plus most appliances have 2 yr guarnatee instead of 1 yr

I would go to John Lewis, select what you want, aks to speak to the manager and say I would like this and this and this, what is the best price you can do. Always works, especially in current climate. Be confident and they will easily knock of an extra 10-20 per cent off. Not many people buy three new white goods at once, all to be delivered to same address, after all. Also, I would not pay extra for extended warranties, unless it is a SMEG as they look lovely but tend to break down a lot (sad experience).
