Artisan food mixers ...

I am coveting one of these and am considering buying the cream one (although the candy apple one is also mighty pleasing to the eye but will probably be a passing fad?!). I have seen good prices via amazon, but John Lewis have an offer on where you get a free artisan bowl - is this something that will be used?

How do ken wood mixers rate in comparison?

Thank you muchly.

I have the purple ( boysenberry) kitchen aid- have had it around 4 months. I swithered over colours but in the end was persuaded by dd who claims purple goes with everything!

It is truly wonderful - am now the sort of person who thinks nothing of knocking up a batch of pizza dough or shortcrust pastry to make a Christmas leftovers pie ... I don't have a guard or glass bowl.

Bramble - our local shop is doing the free bowl too - check with your local as it may be a general KA deal on atm.

I have the blue Kitchenaid and thanks to generous parents am about to purchase the blender.

I have her and she is lovely! Just made bread and going to do cake next.

... And it was cheaper than John Lewis but still comes with free extra container. :)

Oh congratulations - you must be so proud - which colour did you go for? Try a pavlova - the difference in result between a hand held and a stand mixer is enough to boast about for a week - or maybe that's just me Blush

Classic cream. Pavlova is definitely on the list - especially as my hens are still laying.

I am a walking anachronism!!

May you have many happy years together! What is your favourite pavlova topping?
I love passion fruit in the winter and when the season allows will make a move for strawberries. Viva la retro!

Very jealous! Enjoy.

I. Not sure but will experiment. Raspberry and peach methinks

Went to some friend's for dinner last night and discover that her DH had bought her a cream KitchenAid for Christmas! V. jealous. Jealous of both of you now!

Have reminded DH that he promised I can get one when we move back to UK in the summer. He is denying any such promise. Hmm

I bought one when we moved house - the most basic model but still utterly fabulous. The purple is heartstoppingly beautiful imo. When I get my new kitchen in a few years I may treat myself.
