Help me choose a paint colour... please?

Hello :)

I am a bit of a lurker on the Housekeeping board, but don't post much.

I decided my (small) kitchen could do with a bit of frehening up. It is currently a sort of terracotta color, with dark worktops and beech doors. My cooker, sink, fridge etc etc are all stainless steel. It's almost a blank canvas... almost. When the house was being built, I stupidly chose mostly white tiles, with the odd one thrown in which has 9 little terracotta coloured squares on, thus restricting my paint choices massively.

So, I could keep it terracotta but I don't really want to. I could do it a really neutral hessian type colour but I'm only just recovering from an entirely magnolia -house I'm not really keen on that either. I really fancy green Blush I tried an olive-y coloued tester, but it looks a bit grey in my little kitchen,so I thought possibly a soft lime colour.

Does anyonehave any genius suggestions, please? Xmas Grin

Verditer Green from Dulux is a perfect kitchen green. The Dulux website does not do it justice, makes it look rubbish. So go to a Dulux supplier and ask for a sample pot. It's a Georgian colour, quite traditional but looks very contemporary...the sort of green you see in "shabby chic" type kitchens in magazines...nice with traditional cream paintwork but also lovely against lots of stainless steel. If not, then the other colour that always looks brilliant in a kitchen is yellow. Yellow would contrast nicely with your terracotta tiles too. If I could ahve yellow in every room I would! Not sure which yellow to suggest without seeing your kitchen but anything too pale can end up looking quite cold, whereas a bright zingy yellow can look great, equallly a warm yellow like Dulux's Honeybee. Lime green can be nice, years ago I used to have a colour called Tropical Lime in my kitchen (Dulux) and I loved it...but not sure they still do it...and not every room can take it.

Thanks JellyBelly. The Dulux website is showing no results for Verditer Green though :(
