DH and I ALWAYS argue EVERY YEAR about the damned Xmas tree. Just wanted someone independent to do it for us. Oh, and to waste some of his money too!

Lights on first, then your long decorations (tinsel, beads etc), then bables - evenly spaced with no two the same next to each other.
Try not to overload it - you still want to be able to see the tree.

Think I'm a bit anal about tree decorating Xmas Blush

Just out of curiosity- why are you arguing about it? Its surely not that big a deal....

Pity you're so far from us - my DP would probably do it for free. He loves decorating (and choosing) the tree, although I have to say his taste is not terribly restrained - he loves a bit (a lot) of tinsel. (Which I hate).

I just put the lights on then let DD (3yo) loose with the baubles. It looks great Grin.

But then I don't think I have very high standards when it comes to xmas trees as it's a 4ft Sainsbury's fake tree. I have a feeling you're talking about a slightly classier tree....
