Any tips?

It says either do in the washing machine on 30 degrees, or consult a professinal down jacket cleaner Hmm

I would, but I only washed down duvets in the mashine.
it is important to use wool detergent never ever biological and the wool wash setting.
dry in the mashine with dryer balls or tennis balls to fluff up the feathers again.

Ah, we don't have a tumble dryer.

I could take it to the launderette for that.

Is that the important bit?

Will non bio do?

I washed mine with non-bio and it was fine - I don't have a dryer. Just fluff it up when it comes out!

I don't have a tumble drier either. Can they be cleaned at the Dry Cleaners - not that I will even be thinking about it until April because it is completely freezing.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 05/12/2010 17:51

I could do without paying for a dry cleaner.

Unless that's the only thing guaranteed to keep it fluffy and lovely.

I ruined two lovely gap coats by washing them (feathers all stuck together) in spite of tumble drying. I would have it done professionally with the benefit of hindsight.

I ruined a nice down coat - like dikkertjedap said all the feathers stuck together and went lumpy - I was gutted. Don't risk it!

Well, we did washing machine, non bio, 30 degrees, then dried on the airer.

Twas fine.
