cos I think I should. DH says use a shower screen wiper and mop up with towel. Anyone else do this everyday. we have mold growing all round the window edges.

We never had condensation on our windows, until we started drying clothes on the radiators. So then I started opening the windows when drying laundry. Problem solved until suddenly, we had lots of condensation. Turns out there was a burst pipe under our house.........

Only on the upstairs, old crappy double glazing. Have to wipe every moning in the winter.
Anyone know the best thing to wipe them with?

I use a window wiper thing and mop with old terry nappies. Mouldy anyway though, ugh.

Always have to keep on top of it, open the bedroom window a bit every morning for a while til the heating goes off. Otherwise it's condensation (and mould) city here, and it's a fairly new house with DG windows...

Seems it's a problem that affects both houses with double glazing and those without. We now have the small windows open wide all night while we sleep (neighbours must think we're mad). I don't notice it cold while we sleep but it means there is no condensation at all if we open them wide enough. Tried opening them a little and that didnt make any difference at all but when I pushed them wider, no condensation.

We did until I started leaving the upstairs windows open a tiny bit over night and they have been fine since :)

We do upstairs in this weather. I wipe them if it's really bad and try and open the windows for half an hour to let the moisture escape.

I'm seriously considering a de-humidifier to use when I have laundry on the airer but they aren't cheap!

FillMyXmasSprocking · 02/12/2010 21:22

I do. We get it really bad because of our crappy single glazed windows. Have to do it constantly throughout because it comes back half and hour after it is wiped. I HATE it!

Some mornings there randomly isn't any, i can't figure out what the link is.

Only the master bedroom windows get condensation in this house (all windows in house are double glazed) but I wipe dry with microfibre cloth or kitchen towels around 2 or 3 times a week.
