Frozen water pipe - any ideas how to defrost?

Due to having such a tiny kitchen we have our washing machine situated in the shed. Just went to use it and no water is being supplied to machine. The pipes are clad, but there are some exposed bits of bendy piping near the house, is it worth dousing them with hot water or will I make things worse?

TIA, off to friends to use their machine!

I just melted a garden tap.

I turned the tap on full first then pouring boiling water on the tap then working back along the pipe.

Problem is your washing machine has a valve in it. If you heat your pipe it might damage the valve due to expansion. I would disconnect the washing machine pipe from the machine first and then melt the pipe. Once its starts flowing, switch off the stop tap and reconnect the machine.

Lag the bare pipes with rags or an old towel or a sack after that.

Thank you for the top tip especially about the valve. Will have a go tomorrow.

A hairdryer is better for defrosting than boiling water. The sudden change with boiling water can crack your pipes.
