Hi,

I'm looking for a food processor for DH for Christmas. Particularly because I've bought him Jamie's 30 minute meals.

Recommendations please!!

Are there not different sorts?

Ok, so the cheapest one I can find is the Magimix 3200 BlenderMix Food Processor. Is this up to the job, at £180 it was more than I (or rather his Mum, my MIL) was planning to spend.

Any reviews gratefully received.

I have a magimix, it's about 14 years old. My sister has my mum's old Kenwood, which must be well over 20 years old. Both have had to have bowls replaced - it cost us at least £50 for the maximix.

So I'd suggest you go for a known brand, to make it easier to get spares.

Otherwise, they all do pretty much the same thing. I only ever use the metal blade in the large bowl, plus the grater and slicer attachments.

Magimix here, im on the same 12 year old engine and base but getting replacement bowls/lids/blades is easy.

So which one do we get, is the cheapest ok?
