What do you do about condensation on single glazed windows?

I have old sash windows - they're draught-proofed and work fine, but I do find that at this time of year I get dreadful condensation on the inside of the windows, pooling at the join between the two halves of the window (where it then goes black and mildewy) and at the bottom of the cill. What do you do to prevent / improve the situation?

Its pretty easy, and there are clear instructions on the packet.

I do find that if you hair-dryer it too much it can come off the tape at the corners, but it just sticks back down and I put a bit of extra tape over the top if it happens again.

I was amazed at the difference it made to our condensation. Give it a go!

biglips when I tried the film I took it off after the winter ended, cos I wanted to be able to open the windows again, but it did last all winter no problems.

If you look after it you can take it down and use the following year.

You may have to use double sided tape or even carpet tape, because it's cheaper.

But look after it and it lasts.

We have a much simpler and cheaper solution and it really does work I promise, gice it a try before you fork out on anything expensive, it will only cost you a few pounds!

I work in a cafe with single glazing, it gets really hot in there (I mean really hot, far beyond normal because of the layout). Anyway, at this time of year we have condensation running off the windows - it actually puddles on the floors and we have to mop it up regularly. Until the boss, in desperation, bought a bottle of the anti fog spray you use on a car windscreen! It really, truthfully does the trick! We spray the windows in the morning and wipe them over with a dry microfibre cloth and it lasts all day! Every now and then when it is particularly cold outside and the cafe is particularly busy (ie lots of bodies breathing!) we may have to spray it again in the late afternoon. It works a treat.

I think she gets it from Asda!

I wiped mine with a microfibre cloth this am after last shower was finished. The condensation that has been around 24/7 hasn't returned yet. Window area looks lots cleaner too! Blush
