MAKRO - any good?

I was wondering if anybody goes to the Makro now and then to do a big shop? If so, does it work out a lot cheaper compared with supermarkets? Also, does Makro do large bags of bread flower for breadmakers, cleaners, that type of stuff and is it competitively priced? Thanks.

when i go i tend to buy items like meat as the quality is fantastic and it's so much cheaper than the supermarkets
they also have butchers on hand to prepare the cuts for you
i also look at other vat free foods too
have never actually checked out flour in there but i'm guessing that you would save quite a bitSmile

Don't know about flour but cleaners yes. I buy all my washing powder, dishwasher tablets and kitchen roll there. Lots of buy one get one free offers too.

Thanks, I can get a card but the Makro is not close by so I was just wondering whether it would be worth it. I have been to costco but found their cleaners, binliners, etc very expensive (Tesco is cheaper). Thanks for your replies I think I will give it a go!

Its good for washing powder and cleaning stuff. Also for the bags of cooking ingredients like spices, curry powder, etc

Costco is great for bin liners. A roll of 90 for about a tenner and they were on offer last week.

Makro is trade only though, isn't it? Think I tried to get a card but I don't own or buy for a business
