I don't know what to do to get it off! Confused No matter how vigilant I am when I make fudge it always sticks/burns a bit on the bottom, but today it it awful & won't come off!

I have soaked it. I have boiled some water in it. I have soaked it with some fairy liquid in. I have scrubbed at it with a non-scratch scourer. And I have bought some cleaning paste stuff & used that! It will not budge! What can I do?

But is the fudge alright? Grin

flamingtoaster · 03/11/2010 20:07

Strong mixture of biological washing powder (or liquid) and leave it to soak at least overnight - should come off quite easily after that. (Of course I've never burned anything on to the bottom of my Le Creuset and this is purely what I have heard.:) )

Yes the fudge is fine! I was worried initially but my quality control testing reveale that it's flavour was not affected!

Flamingtoaster - brilliant shall get some 2moro & give it a go, thank you! :)

this stuff is brilliant. Not a gimic I promise!

ElspethDiggory · 03/11/2010 21:29

yy also request fudge recipe.

Mmmm...fudge....

bebejones · 03/11/2010 22:02

Shock I didn't know they made their own cleaning stuff!

I have ordered shopping for 2moro to include:
Fairy Power spray (rescued my mums le creuset casserole dish)
Soda Crystals
Biological Washing Detergant
If none of those work I shall be buying some on that special Le Creuset cleaner! Tis after all cheaper than a new pan!

Shall go find recipe for fudge...

In a medium, heavy based saucepan put 225g granulated sugar, 50g unsalted butter, a 397g tin of condensed milk, 1 tbsp clear honey and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves - keep stirring all the time.

Bring to the boil, and boil for 6 - 8 minutes - keep stirring all the time!

Remove pan from heat and beat in 100g grated dark chocolate until smooth and glossy.

Pour mixture into square cake tin or deep baking tray (lined with baking parchment or even better Clingfilm) and chill in the fridge for 2 hours.

Chop into squares. Store in an airtight container. Enjoy :)

(Today I had no vanilla so used orange extract & slightly more chocolate, still worked fine! It isn't exactly how bought fudge tastes but is still yummy! :))
