I've just started into a big spring-clean (ok, ok, I know it's autumn, but ykwim....) and am wondering what cleaning products you've discovered that work really, really miraculously well. I'll start with:

  1. This toilet bowl cleaner. Was at a friend's house and she gave me some to try out at home and it really worked well with little scrubbing to do, want to get to the shop asap to buy some more!
  1. Oven Pride... I know a lot of MNers love this....I haven't tried it yet, but have some in my cupboard ready for the next time my oven needs a clean, I wanted to use up my other oven cleaning product first before trying this, but I'll take everyone's word for it that it is the best that's out there.

So.... what else is really worth buing and makes cleaning easier for you? The biggest, most hated chore for me is cleaning the shower....what works for you?

the best product i have ever used is Flash ultimate in the Green bottle it cleans great but God stay out of the fumes, they are awful.Oh and flash wipes and Dettox wipes for general cleaning. obsessed with these

Limelite.
The gel is better than the spray as it's stronger and the fumes don't knock you out as much.

Having said that I prefer to use ecover most of the time even though it's not as good. Doesn't seem so noxious, somehow.

Method wooden floor cleaner as recommended on here smells of almonds and is a pleasure to use if only for that reason.

Viakal limescale remover works brilliantly if you live in a hard water area and get that calcium build up around the taps. Is also excellent for cleaning water marks from shower doors. Smells very strong though.

Harpic power plus toilet cleaner works miracles. I used it on a toilet in a rented house and after an overnight soak and morning scrub it came up like new.

kitchen/bathroom surfaces - dettol multi purpose spray
the loo - domestos bleach/toilet duck/harpic powerplus
floors - domestos bleach
polish - mr sheen
air freshner - fabreeze

Domestos Grotbuster bleach is fabulous for really grimy bits - it's really thick so you can pour it on and leave for ages. Esp good for stained Belfast sink. Viakal seconded.

big fan of viakel as we live in a hard water area - spray shower door/tiles etc and they come up sparkling - also keen on dettol mould and mildew remover for tiles/grout again very little effort required but big results - use old fashione soap pads ( wire wool with pink soap on it) for my oven again little effort needed and glass doors come up lovely. my sis is a fan of baby oil on her stainless steel cooker - havn;t tried it as use mr muscle window and glass cleaner on all stainless steel, kettle, toaster etc. think thats about it for now.

HG products are great, especially Bath Shine, Mould Spray and the Steel Polish (makes your steel kettle, toaster, waste bin, kitchen machines etc look brand new).

I only ever use Ecover products as they smell lovely and don't aggravate my skin. House is sparkling: all-purpose spray and limescale spray for kitchen and bathroom; toilet duck for toilet (!); laundry detergent for the clothes; window cleaner for mirrors and windows... Method is good too but I only use their stainless steel cleaner to buff / shine the fridge and cooker. I do use Domestos neat bleach for sink holes. I never use furniture polish.
