Single duvets - help !

Wirlies · 22/10/2010 11:04

Have bunk beds for my boys - bought two cheap duvets from Tesco or somewhere. They are warm and thick, but the problem is that they move around loads inside the cover. So in the morning I don't just have to straighten the beds, I have to take each duvet+cover, shake it, and put it back on !! FAR too much hassle for me.

Any ideas ? is it because of the type of duvet ? would a thinner but heavier one not move around so much ?

It is such a hassle and means that when I go in to check on them before I go to sleep, they're often actually only covered by the duvet cover itself, becuase the duvet has worked its way down to the other end.

TIA !

has the duvet a sort of paper cover iyswim, or a proper fabric one?
we had a really cheap one for ds with this weird paper like cover and had the same problem.
luckily it broke in the laundrette and we had to get a new one [hgrin]

big freezer clips on each corner?

I think it's the covers too. My DDs from Tesco did this too and after a few weeks I just caved in a bought a Fogarty with cotton/material cover.
False economy in my case but at £4 for a double I couldn't resist trying it!

I think it might be the duvet material too. My mum bought a cheap one for her spare room and it is never in the right place inside the duvet cover. It has a 'papery' cover (synthetic?), not the cottony ones like most duvets. It's horrible! i'm going to get her a nicer duvet next time BHS (or somewhere) have a sale.

this happens with ds' duvet

hisis a cheapy duvet as well

So the duvet cover is cheap (Tesco's) but it isn't too papery - but maybe its worth trying new covers too ! Its just such a faff.
Anyone tried changing the duvet to a better quality one?
