I am fed up of DCs dropping bits of paper around the living room and then its me who has to pick them all up and juggle them into kitchen to put in the bin. Ive nagged and nagged but i think they are just too lazy to go to the kitchen!

To make it easier on myself im thinking of getting a small bin for the living room so i can just pick up and throw in. Ive seen cheapy wicker bins in shops but they just remind me of my nans house lol and think they will get knocked over easy by my 6mth old explorer Hmm, just wondered if anyone knew of any nicer looking ones?

Budget is a bit of an issue dont want to spend a fortune. Sorry for rambling on :)

No specific ideas, but I would suggest Ikea, they are generally good at inventive storage solutions!

we have a small bin in the living room but it sits under a side table out of the way

We have wicker bin (which I also dislike) in living room but it's hidden away behind the door. I make a big deal about saying to DD what a good girl and what a big girl she is if she puts rubbish away by herself and to encourage her more I say, "I'll tell [her adored childminder] what a good girl you've been if you tidy \ put this away." Not ideal, but hey it generally works!

We've got a square wooden one which is far too heavy to knock over but you have to be careful as to what they put in it as they often put in toys and anything they can get hold of!
