Best handheld vacuum cleaner?

I want a handheld vacuum cleaner for doing the stairs and the car with. I hardly ever hoover the stairs because it's such a pain to get it out and haul it up them so I thought they may get done more often (and the car too!) if I had a really good handheld vacuum cleaner - and I have nectar points to spend!

Can anyone recommend any?

Hello!

We've noticed this thread is quite old and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. After weeks of trawling the Talk boards, talking to parents and researching bestsellers, here are our trusted reviews to help you find the best handheld vacuum cleaner on the market.

Hope this helps! Flowers

We have the Dyson and it is brilliant. I hardly ever use the proper vacuum.

Same idea here, fifteen years of nectar points!!!
The only one ever recommended is the Dyson.

I take that back - I did buy a slide too from Argos and might have some leftovers for some small Xmas presents.

Ok, just looked up the dyson one Shock at price! I don't have that many nectar points! Think £50...

We've got the black & decker dustbuster and I think it's great - but think that was about £70...perhaps they'll come in the sales after xmas?

NotAnotherBrick · 18/10/2010 16:29

Ooh, will look that one up, berri.

I recommend the Dyson too! I bought mine from Littlewoods direct and got £30 off because it was my 1st order. They weren't as expensive when I bought mine (about a year ago). I haven't used my plug-in hoover since!

Seasider · 20/10/2010 12:18

Sorry NotanotherBrick but Dyson is the only way to go...

Chatelaine · 20/10/2010 13:38

The Dyson is good, it has a base station to recharge it, the only draw back is that it only gives approx 6 minutes before you need to recharge. I don't find that a problem tbh as I use it for a quick going over. Comes with a head and a long nozzle.

Chatelaine - I hoover my lounge and kitchen floor quite thoroughly in 6 minutes with my mini Dyson!! It has taken a bit of training but I can now achieve this easily Grin.

Chatelaine · 20/10/2010 18:18

mogs0 What point are you making? Do what you like with yours, seems to me we are both happy with the product which is what OP was asking about (with the way we use it) Shock

mogs0 · 20/10/2010 21:04

The point I was making, as a self-confessed slattern, is that I have trained myself to hoover thoroughly in 6 minutes with the mini Dyson rather than it taking me half an hour with the plug-in hoover like it did before I had a 6 minute time limit - I thought the Grin would make it clear that I was trying to be funny. Sorry if I've caused offence, was just my attempt at being funny Blush.
