had my heaters on a lot lately to dry clothes as ive no space for tumble dryer anywhere but my house is always so stuffy/smelly (and not smelly in a dirty way just damp i suppose :( ) and ive now got mould growing on my windows everytime i scrub it its coming back
was thinking about getting a heated clothes airer but i would still have the same problem right?
was also looking at one of these

open your windows and don't dry washing on the radiators - both bloody hard in winter but it is the best way to stop condensation/mould

I got a dehumidifier last Winter and it is the best thing I ever bought! We had a problem with damp caused by condensation which has disappeared. I hate drying washing indoors but October- March I have to. Everything dries much quicker, no more mould growing in corners and the air in the house is much fresher. I open the windows at every opportunity but it has made a real difference.I got mine from Argos- it's an Ebac and it's great. Can't remember the cost (maybe 170 quid ish?) but it's worth it.

thank you mrsfollowill think im going to have to buy one got no other choice as i dont have any other choice but to put clothes over radiators as i have no other way of drying them
did u get the one for 3 to 4 bedrooms then im just looking at them just now ive just shelled out 230 pounds to pay of the rest of my holiday today so i dint really want to go that high but dnt really have any other choice (away to rob a bank wish me luck)

It's here
Expensive I know- I've not looked at any of the others or read the reviews. I don't know if you could get one 2nd hand? It hasn't made a difference to my electric bill though so is running pretty cheaply. Also the washing still dries in Autumn/Spring without putting the radiators on. Good luck!

open all your windows at least twice a day for 10 min or so. put the heating on.
don't use the radiator for drying, get a wing-airer or similar instead.

I second the dehumidifier - the washing goes over a clothes horse in the spare room with the dehumidifier on, and it pretty much dries over night. Expensive to buy, but cheap to run and has really improved the condensation situation in the colder months.

I have one I bought last year for a similar problem and it worked but we have moved now and it is just sat doing nothing so if you could pick up you could have it.

We are in sheffield BTW.
