Anyone know how to get rid of orange stains in the shower?

I'm not sure if it's mold, it's not black. Unfortunately we've got mosaic tiles in the shower, so scrubbing the grout is a pain and I've left it a bit of a while Blush. Is there a wonder product?

YES YES I DO!

Dettol Mould & Mildew (green bottle) is pretty good. I think, but might be wrong, that it is supposed to be oil deposits from bodies washing themselves. Mine has it too! Blush

sorry, am very excited as was told this by another MNer
I assume you mean the tiles rather than tray
Make a paste of bio washing powder and water. Scrub it on with a scrubby thing - lots of elbow grease. Leave overnight then rinse.
Or use Dettol mold and mildew remover.

How brilliant - I knew someone would know.

So - I get Dettol Mould & Mildew and try that first (lazy emotion) and if it doesn't then I do the bio washing powder thing.

Great

Good old fashioned bleach works too.

StealthPolarBear · 07/10/2010 21:02

oh but the bio washing powder stuff gives you such a sense of achievement
and it works on water stains on glass doors too
and general scum in the shower tray
and no fumes
I love it

The mould and mildew spraw is brilliant. THe only bad thing about it is that if you spill it on any of your clothes it bleaches them! I have two pairs of trousers that have been ruined.

Half a lemon with a bit of salt and rub Grin

I think the orange stuff is limescale rather than mould. Cillit Bang and a bit of scrubbing with a toothbrush seems to do the trick.

HG Mould spray is a wonder product.

Lime Lite limescale remover gets it off my shower tiles, leave it to soak in and wipe it with a bathroom sponge then rinse.
