Why have I got low water levels in my loos?

At first it was just downstairs, now I think it's upstairs. No obvious leak. Think I can hear a drip from the water tank. Is it a drain blockage?

The water level in the loo is defined by the height of the u-bend (which sets the maximum depth). When you flush, the water rushes down from the cistern, pushes the dirty water out down the drain and the clean water takes it's place.

The only ways I can think of that the water level can fall is either if the loo has a crack/leak, or if you clean the loo vigourously with a brush and in doing so, push some of the water over the u-bend.

Anyone else?

toilet tsunami?

I have noticed this before and always when it's windy.

I just assumed it was the water being sucked down the tubes/sewer by the air movment. If you watch the water in the loo it'll move with the wind.

( or it does in my house anyway :D)

I impress myself sometimes Wink

Fascinated now. How does the wind affect water inside?

Will check out my loo the next time it's blowing a gale.
