How to shrink something on purpose?

DD's nursery uniform arrived today, it is the smallest size it came in and it is still HUGE on her. How can I shrink a polo shirt and a sweatshirt Grin

put them in the tumble dryer for too long. i did this with a dress I bought that was too long but I really liked, it worked.

Depends on the fabric. Some things don't shrink whatever you do. Some things even get bigger (or at least saggy and shapeless) if you put them through a hot wash.

School uniforms are probably pretty bomb proof tbh. Isn't it traditional anyway to have to spend the first half of the school year with your jumper turned up half a dozen times so you've got "growing room"? Or was that just my mum Hmm

er - why not put it aside for next year? Or if you are handy with a sewing machine it would not be too hard to scale them down. Normally uniform suppliers will embroider to any size, could you find your own T shirt and beg for an exception?

She will only be in nursery for two years, polo shirts down to her knees! will keep them for ds though, if I can't shrink them.
DH wouldn't know how to turn the bloody machine on never mind shrink anything.
Am going to try tumble drying Grin
