Dish drainers - do they have to get manky???

At the moment I am deeply ashamed of mine - it's almost criminal to put anything that you'd eat off to dry on it. That's not to say that I do not give it a rinse everday but the limescale and grunge just keep building up!

I have the plastic kind but wonder if stainless steel or chrome ones would be less prone to build up (ie perhaps some surfaces allow greater adherence of grunge Confused)

Will def bin the current one but if anyone has a good one to recommend I'd be grateful. Also, maintenance tips might be handy.

Put it in the dishwasher once a week! Wink

I actually have a chrome one, it does not seem to get gunky but then I only put clean, rinsed stuff on it.

Never even thought of putting it in the dishwasher..

I only put clean rinsed stuff on as well!! The mankiness (is that a word?) I refer to is the limescale!

And the rinse aid in the machine gets rid of it once a week.
