Has anybody paid somebody to sell their stuff?

I am on a major de-clutter drive and house tidy up since my x left us last month. I have LOADS of stuff that I have put aside to sell. Probably enough to fill a small bedroom right up to the top! lol.

I really need the money and I am selling stuff, but its going down very slowly.

I was wondering about using one of those people who sell stuff on ebay and take a % for themselveS? It does mean loosing money I could really do with, but at least I would be getting the money, instead of just having loads of stuff taking up space and loosing value?

Would they even bother doing small value things? Its mostly clothes and toys etc so nothing expensive?

You could end up losing quite a bit as e take a % then paypal, then the person sellingtoo will take a considerable chunk.

I'd rather set aside a day to list everything on there myself and also free local listings such as preloved/gumtree.

Yes I did think that. I just don't know what to do with it all. There are great local sites. But I have 2 little ones and I am on my own with nobody local to help!

Even setting aside a day, after the basic daily essential jobs are done, and the kids are delt with, there is very little time left. I do list a few items a day but it is a very long process!

And I hate going to the Post office - it is a half hour walk each way and always long ques.

It is a long process - but at least all the money will be yours when you sell things. Definitely use your free local sites, and list your things on several of them at the same time. You could just set up a standard template in Word to speed it up a bit? What about an NCT sale if you have a lot of children's things? You can drop them off at most NCT sales and just collect unsold stuff and your earnings at the end. Also, Royal Mail do online postage which is really easy to use (you just need a printer) and saves queueing at the PO.
