Bedroom furniture! What do you have?

I hate my bedroom furniture. At the moment it's just functional but it's not pretty and I feel there is too much of it.

We have a king size bed, 2 double wardrobes, a tall chest of drawers and a long shorter chest of drawers. Plastic containers under the bed full of stuff. There still doesn't seem to be enough space for everything. Probably because it's also a bit of a dumping space for everything that doesn't have a proper home elsewhere in the house.

Our room is next on the to do list and i'd really like to walk into a nice relaxing room that isn't cluttered with huge ugly bits of furniture and still see "stuff" everywhere.

What do you have in your bedroom and is it enough?

I'm proud of the fact that I've managed to keep the rest of the flat fairly uncluttered and clean and tidy but the bedroom gives me headache just thinking of it!

We have a sleigh bed, 2 White bedside tables, 2 built in wardrobes, 3 freestanding wardrobes/shelving units. No clutter. But we have a huge ensuite bathroom with lots of storage so all the clutter and laundry baskets etc are in there.

we have just bought a whole load of mirrored furniture from www.glasshouseimports.com to 'shi-shi' up our bedroom since it too was looking disasterous! Apart from this amazing furniture (very well priced by the way) I bought 2 massive wheely drawers to go under my bed (for all the clutter) - room is looking heavenly now even if I can see my cellulite in the mirrored furntiure...lol! Good luck!

I'd love a walk in wardrobe.

Do you have room to partition off a corner of the room to make one? Then all the rubbish could go inside. They don't need windows and as they just require an ordinary door and fitting out with some simple rails/baskets/shelves you don't need expensive new wardrobes so that you can spend whatever you were going to spend on new furniture on a builder or the materials to make stud walls and a door.

Could this be your solution?

We have two big built in cupboards, so we don't need wardrobes in our bedroom.

We have a super king size wooden four poster bed from lombok, which is one of the most expensive things I've ever bought, and a matching dressing table and tallboy chest. Other than 2 small bedside tables, that's it. I really like that the room isn't too cluttered and I love my bed.

It was bought for a bigger room and we've moved and I was expecting not to be able to take it. Luckily, although our new bedroom is smaller, we have managed to squeeze it in!!

We have just bought some furniture from Ikea ... bedside tables, bed and drawers. We have a converted loft with an en-suite and walk in wardrobe. Because of our space issue and stairways it had to be assemble it furniture.
